General Information - IntroductionThere are many services available of interest to seniors, and many seniors organizations. The "links" button below will take you to websites that tell you something about these services and agencies and how to contact them. The Community Information links and the link to “A Guide to Programs and Services for Seniors in Ontario” are especially useful. We also have provided "links" to websites that are of general legal interest. For example there are links to both federal and provincial statutes and regulations. These sites include all the statutes and regulations, although users are cautioned that the very latest changes to the legislation may not have been incorporated when you use these websites. There are also links to sites that tell you about the Ontario courts, including the Small Claims Court, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. If you need legal assistance try the links to the Lawyer Referral Service and Legal Aid Ontario. Legal Aid Ontario explains the Ontario legal aid system and provides information on how to obtain a legal aid certificate and how to access the community legal clinics. Users of this site are encouraged to visit the Community Legal Education
Ontario (CLEO) website for information
on a wide range of legal topics. CLEO works closely with Ontario community
legal clinics to produce readable and informative brochures and other
printed materials. Many of these materials may be printed directly from
the website, and multiple copies may be ordered from CLEO. Please, see our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), ACE Publications or Links pages to find additional useful information on this topic. |
