Long-Term Care Facilities in Ontario: The Advocate's Manual

The Advocacy Centre for the Elderly produces a 600+ page manual entitled Long-Term Care Facilities in Ontario: The Advocate's Manual. This manual is a roadmap to the long-term care system in Ontario, and includes chapters on institutional long-term care, home care, and retirement homes, as well as chapters on other issues such as substitute decision-making, powers of attorney, and advocacy. ACE is currently working on revisions to the manual and hopes to publish the fourth edition in 2010 or 2011.

Community Legal Education Ontario Publications

In co-operation with the community legal clinics in Ontario, Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) produces many helpful publications on a wide range of legal topics. CLEO and ACE worked together on the booklet Every Resident: The Bill of Rights for People Who Live In Ontario Long-Term Care Facilities which be printed from the CLEO website.
